Today I propose something different.... a webquest! What is a webquest? You're probably thinking, it's a set of questions you need to find the answer to by using the internet. So here's a quiz about Australia and I'd like you to find the answers online. The National Geographic website in English is a very useful place to start, wikipedia is always useful too.

British & American English, some more differences....

As I mentioned in my last post there are some differences between British and American English, regarding vocabulary, but we have other differences such as prounciation, for example.

Is it British English or American English?

In class a lot of people ask me is that British English or American English?

Good question. At the end of the day we all speak English in the same way Spanish is spoken in Spain and in South America but some vocabulary is different.

While watching this video I would like you to think about the second conditional:-

IF + past simple, SB + would / could / should + INF

* You can exchange IF for WHEN, AS SOON AS or UNLESS.

When you use the verb to be in the second conditional (in the past simple), we need to use the form "were" for every subject, like Beyoncé's song "If I were a boy..." NOT "If I was a boy..."

Therefore:-

If the world (it) were 100 people, 31 people would be Christian.... 

OR

Only 77 people would have shelter, if the world were 100 people.
