My blog is aimed at anyone who wants to improve their English. I try to post two or three times a week and include grammar tips, interesting links, exam skills and some brief summaries of some activities we've been doing in class.

What would happen if the world were 100 people???
Imagine there were only a hundred people in the world, would it be a better place? Watch this video to find out. It really puts things into perspective.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFrqTFRy-LU
While watching this video I would like you to think about the second conditional:-
IF + past simple, SB + would / could / should + INF
* You can exchange IF for WHEN, AS SOON AS or UNLESS.
When you use the verb to be in the second conditional (in the past simple), we need to use the form "were" for every subject, like Beyoncé's song "If I were a boy..." NOT "If I was a boy..."
Therefore:-
If the world (it) were 100 people, 31 people would be Christian....
OR
Only 77 people would have shelter, if the world were 100 people.
Watch the video and try to make some other examples.
